Coalition Applauds President Trump’s Replacement of Senior Military Officers

D.E.I. Hires on Notice: Merit-based Promotion of Warriors Returns

WASHINGTON, D.C.— In recent days, President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have begun keeping promises made in the course of the campaign and first month of the new presidency to restore the U.S. military’s focus to warfighting, instead of the social experimentation and cultural Marxist (Woke) agenda of recent Democratic administrations. The Save America’s Military Coalition salutes the progress being made with the termination of Joint Chiefs Chairman General C.Q. Brown, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti and Coast Guard Commander Admiral Linda Fagan, among others.

Messrs. Trump and Hegseth deserve great credit for recognizing the debilitating effect such individuals and their priorities have had on readiness, retention, recruitment and deterrence and for their courage in promptly taking corrective action.

The Save America’s Military Coalition is particularly gratified by the affirmation such actions represent of its recommendations and those of the larger community of distinguished veterans and other national security practitioners and patriots who have long warned about the damage done to our armed forces by the indoctrination, political commissars and promotions based, not on merit but on fidelity to the toxic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion wrecking operation.

In particular, the Coalition takes pride in having produced – among other contributions to the mandate Mr. Trump received from the American people to restore what Secretary Hegseth has rightly called “the warrior ethos” to the Pentagon and the armed services – the following:

  • A two-hour long video telethon on September 27, 2023, entitled “Stop the Marxist Takedown of Our Military” aimed at informing and encouraging the U.S. Senate in the performance of its constitutional role as the quality-control institution on military promotions.   • A webinar entitled “America’s Military Requires Merit-based Readiness, Not Marxist D.E.I.” And,
  • A second Senate video telethon “Supporting Pete Hegseth and Opposing Cultural Marxism in the Military.”

The Save America’s Military Coalition looks forward to supporting further efforts by President Trump, Secretary Hegseth and the Congress to ensure that our men and women in uniform are not only properly led, but provided the resources and capabilities required to provide for the common defense.
